If you are ordering for the first time or are a new user with Echo, the first step we follow is to contact your GP.  This is in order to get your prescription approved and have this sent to us electronically. Once we receive your prescription and it's confirmed by our pharmacists, we’ll then start preparing your order.

On average, GPs turnaround time for prescription requests are within one working day. However, if there are issues with your requested medication, this can take over a week.

Your GP may be taking longer than usual due to a number of reasons:

- They have sent the prescription to your old pharmacy

- They would like to speak to you before they issue the prescription

- They issued a paper prescription that hasn't arrived in Echo's post yet

- They may just be busy and haven’t had the chance to send over your prescription yet

When your GP does send over the prescription, we’ll be in touch.

In the meantime, we’d recommend contacting the surgery yourself as they may wish to speak to you before issuing the prescription.

Alternatively, you can contact us via our live support chat. This is listed as a dropdown on the app.
